Retail Academy announces new scheme to support community groups
Wednesday, 25 November 2009Community groups & partnerships in England will be given the chance to receive funding in an open competition with the help of the Retail Academy. The new government funded scheme will allow thirty community groups, supported by active local newsagents, to get financial support to benefit their activities.
The application process is to open this winter with the thirty successful groups being selected early in the new year. More details will become available in the following weeks.

The Transformation Fund delivers on commitments made in The Learning Revolution White Paper, published in 2009, which announced a new approach to improving people's lives and prosperity through learning for pleasure.
The Government's £20m Transformation Fund to support informal adult learning - learning for pleasure, self-development and community development will award money to a wide range of projects all with the objective of seeing creative learning flourish across the country.
The Institute of Place Management is the international professional body that supports people committed to developing, managing and making places better. It aims to support and develop the profession of place management. It was formed in partnership by the Manchester Metropolitan University and the Association of Town Centre Management in response to the lack of a defined career structure for those who manage places.
